Dear Author,

 

Thank you very much for writing for me! I'm bygoshbygolly on AO3. Below are some general details on the things I am into, and below are more specific prompts and ideas. While pretty much anything that doesn't hit my DNWs will make me happy, I think it can be pretty helpful to have more specific prompts/ideas than 'go wild.'

I am, for the most part, recycling my letter from last year, with only slight adjustments. They're good ships!

 

Likes: fairytales (both fairytale AUs and just the general tone and language), quiet intimacy, trust, loyalty, superhero AUs, deep friendships, wrong choices made for the right reasons, get-together fic, 'i hate them but it's complicated', slow burn, space AUs, focusing on hands, monsters, everyday magic and magical realism, expectations vs reality, fake dating/married, awkward flirting, canon-divergence AUs, missing scenes, metaphors taken as literal, hunger, people saying one thing and meaning another, bitterness

 

DNW: A/B/O or biological imperative, rape, underage sex, major character death, pregnancy, nonconsensual surgery/body modification, hopeless endings 

I like unconventional formatting and style for both fic and art, if that's your thing, so if you want to get experimental, go for it! For art, I like atmospheric pieces, comics, colors, stylized art, and a lot of other stuff. I really like art, but am bad at coming up with prompts- I tried to come up with a few for each fandom, but if it doesn't hit my DNW, just listen to your heart.

Hungry Daughters of Starving Mothers- Alyssa Wong

This is my favorite short story, and I've read it so many times I've lost track. It's wonderfully creepy and atmospheric and fraught, and the last scene! It's amazing.

I'd love to read more about Jen and Aiko, whether it be pre-canon fic with Jen realizing how tantalizing Aiko's thoughts are, or post-canon fic where she's managed to bring Aiko back. Does something go wrong? How do they continue, after what happened at the party?
Or a fic from Aiko's point of view- she's known about Jen and Seo-Yun for a while, and Jen never knew. What was that like, catering for that sort of clientele, and being friends with Jen?
I'd also love to read more about Jen and Seo-Yun's time together- the parties and the freedom Jen felt, at least at the beginning.

Feel free to get absolutely weird and dark with this fandom. I still wouldn't like a hopeless ending, but something bittersweet or open the way the canon is would be a-ok. Just let your imagination run wild! I love this short story.

Ballroom e Youkoso
Hanaoka Shizuku/Hiyama Chinatsu, Hiyama Chinatsu/Koumoto Akira

I love the girls in this series! I love Chinatsu's arrogance and skill, and how she's learning how to compromise. I loved seeing Akira's backstory, and how she seems to be taking steps forward. I love Shizuku's fierce competitiveness and fear of being left behind. Absolutely feel free to get into gender politics here, with how the leader and partner roles are seen and how that affects these girls.

I'd love to see anything about Shizuku and Chinatsu's competitiveness and how their roles and pasts affect them. Shizuku is seen as the ideal partner, whereas Chinatsu is a 'runaway mare' who needs to be 'tamed'. They each envy each other, at least a little, but they're also friends.
For Chinatsu and Akira, what I'd really love is something post-canon (or, post-current canon, I guess) where they try and reconnect. They have so much baggage to work through, but the feelings of affection are still there, and I'm so interested in seeing how that would go. How do you become friends again when you're in the habit of hurting each other?

Kotani Karin/Honma Mitsuko, Honma Mitsuko/Kannagi Shinobu, Ishidou Natsuo/Ninomiya Kei, Ishidou Natsuo/Sawamura Sanae, Haruka Kirido/Ishidou Natsuo, Ganeko Mai/Sawamura Sanae, Ishidou Natsuo/Mawatari Yuzuko

I love Teppu! I love the art and the messy feelings all over the place, and I'd love basically anything for this fandom. You can't go wrong with fighting, either as metaphor or as something laden with tension, or just because fighting is fun! Any ship fighting is good (yes, even Natsuo/Kei). Crushes, awkward feelings, no one being able to be cool about anything. Or snippets of interviews and news coverage! I think that's super cool. Future fic is also great.

For Karin/Honma and Honma/Shinobu, I'd especially be interested in discussion of the evolution of women's MMA, if that's something you're interested in. First meetings are also great.

Revolutionary Girl Utena
Arisugawa Juri/Takatsuki Shiori, Himemiya Anthy/Tenjou Utena, Shinohara Wakaba/Tenjou Utena

Considering the source material, I'm not against discussing past rape/csa/trauma, especially how it affects characters, but please don't go into the gory details. Also, definitely feel free to get weird and metaphorical.

I love the solid basis of friendship between Utena and Wakaba, but they both have secrets and insecurities that they keep from each other, and I would love something exploring either side (or both sides) of that. Or confessions, a date, the two of them in the future...It's all good.

Juri/Shiori...it's complicated. I'd be interested in longing, and frustration, but also future-fic where they've both grown some and try and start over. Or fencing practice, maybe.

Utena/Anthy is one of my favorite ships, and as a result I am terrible at coming up with prompts for them- Tea drinking in the future, complicated feelings about the Rose Bride/engaged deal, further attempts to poison one another (while having feelings)...anything, really.

For art: Riffing on any of the symbolism in the show, moments in the future, quiet moments
