Dear Author,

Thank you very much for writing for me! I'm bygoshbygolly on AO3. Below are some general details on the things I am into, and below are more specific prompts and ideas. While pretty much anything that doesn't hit my DNWs will make me happy, I think it can be pretty helpful to have more specific prompts/ideas than 'go wild.'

Likes: fairytales (both fairytale AUs and just the general tone and language), quiet intimacy, trust, loyalty, superhero AUs, deep friendships, wrong choices made for the right reasons, get-together fic, 'i hate them but it's complicated', slow burn, focusing on hands, monsters, magical realism, expectations vs reality, fake dating/married, awkward flirting, canon-divergence AUs, missing scenes, metaphors taken as literal

If you want to include sex: body worship, intercrural, teasing, oral (esp. cunnilingus), and foreplay are all A+ in my book. I am lukewarm on actual penetration but do your thing

DNW: A/B/O, rape, underage sex, major character death, pregnancy, nonconsensual surgery/body modification, hopeless endings (general angst is fine)

I like gen, het, slash, and femslash, and have options for each of those categories.

Inda series- Sherwood Smith
Any

I love the Inda books; I love the world-building and the characters, I love the complicated relationships and how there is no rape and that the Marlovans do not understand fashion (and Inda understands it even less than the rest of the Marlovans). I love the time spent on the ships and the time spent in Iasca-Leror. The sensual massage/cupboard economics lesson that was Pt II, Ch 28 of King’s Shield is my favorite chapter of anything ever.

I would like pretty much anything for Inda, but here are some general concepts from the books I would love to see more of: exploring loyalty to people/concepts/places; how the idea of ‘home’ can change and what that means; how messy and complicated and frustrating feelings are, both yours and others; the ideal of something versus its reality.

More specific ideas/AUs if you want them: superhero AU , Princess Bride AU (‘Are you the Dread Pirate Elgar the Fox?’ ‘Yeah, but so is he, and him, and her over there, and those guys…’), sci-fi AU (so much of the series would work in space as well. Imagine fire ships IN SPACE. Iasca-Leror as the militarily powerful, yet culturally backwater planet), missing scenes on the ship or at the Academy, what if Tau knew about his family from the start?, journal entries/letters from one or several of the characters, Tdor and Shen's relationship at training, knowing that after they will likely never see each other again, or Inda trying to reconcile his ship life with his Marlovan life with Tau acting as intermediary.

Gen or shipfic is fine, and I don’t have a ship preference (as long as Evred remains gay) because they all have the potential to be great. Threesomes/moresomes A-OK. Please also feel free to include any characters that weren’t nominated. The only ones I don’t want to read about are Wafri, Coco, the Sierandael, the Sierlaef, and the Venn (referencing them is totally fine).


Teppu (Manga)
Any

Teppu is great, for me, because Natsuo basically comes across as a super-villain in training while also being the protagonist. The fight scenes are intense and I love the different relationships between all the girls. Plus, a sports manga thats a) about girls, b) not full of weird fanservice, and c) actually complete! I love Mawatari’s bright cheerfulness that comes across as unnerving; the fact that Kei genuinely likes Natsuo but also tells her off for being a jerk; how Ringi went from pretty much beating up Mawatari at every opportunity to thinking of her as her sister; Sanae's determination and anger; and of course, Natsuo’s terrible gay self.

I’m interested in: post-series fic where Natsuo keeps training- where does she go after Mawatari? Do they meet up later and fall in love? What about Mawatari and Ringi? Do they ever get to compete, and if so, what’s the outcome? Does Kei become a ring girl? (probably not but hey) Are Ringi, Mawatari, and Natsuo all competing in pro women’s MMA at the same time? Do Mawatari and Natsuo ever start out kissing and end up grappling? Are Natsuo and Kei dating? Did Ringi ever get to fight Natsuo? Do Sanae and Natsuo ever make up?

Also good: supervillain AU, monsters AU (both Mawatari and Natsuo are monstrous in their own ways)

Gen or shipfic is fine; any combination of nominated characters is fine, although I would prefer no romantic/sexual Mawatari/Ringi as it is too close to incest for my liking; additional, unnominated characters are definitely fine.


The Engelsfors Trilogy- Mats Strandberg and Sara B Elfgren
Vanessa Dahl, Linnea Wallin

I liked the Engelsfors books from the moment Minoo thought of fashion as being a language she understood, but didn’t speak herself, because that is exactly how I think of fashion. Then came Vanessa and Linnea, and I was sold. I love the bond between all the girls, and how they have each others’ backs even if they don’t currently like each other very much. The way Vanessa/Linnea developed was wonderful: slowly over two books but then actually explored as a romantic relationship in the third one, rather than just having them kiss at the end and leaving everything up in the air. It was messy and wonderful.

I’d love to see: times they used their powers to help each other (or just for fun); post-series fic on how the group reintegrates back after a) saving the world and b) being gone for a whole year; further trouble from demons or other supernatural forces; the gang going up against the Council again; the gang mentoring other witches. Seeing the slow-burn more from Linnea's side. A more ‘traditional’ witch AU could be really fun, too.

I'd prefer shipfic in the sense of having Vanessa/Linnea as an important part, but it doesn't have to be the central focus. Other characters welcome


Sinbad (TV)
Sinbad, Nala

Pretty much everyone in Sinbad is hot, and the costuming and makeup was great. The plot sure happened, with some episodes better than others, but I enjoyed the show a ton and I’m sad it’s gone. I loved Sinbad and Nala’s relationship, both how it grew from eye-rolling disdain to genuine respect and affection. I also loved the completely bizarre monsters in the show (the plant werewolf was a high point for me).

I’d love to see: canon-divergence fic where Nala didn’t leave the ship, or Sinbad went with her. What happened next? Any kind of canon-divergence would be interesting for them, I think. Or post-canon fic where they find each other again. I’d love pretty much anything with them being into each other but also trying to appear totally cool and calm. If you want to explore more about Nala's marriage to death that would be great. A ‘missing adventure’ would be great too.

I'd prefer shipfic, please. The ship doesn’t have to be the sole focus but it should be prominent. The rest of the characters are definitely allowed.
